I have the feeling that we, now that we’re based here, should go around with our camera all the time. We’ve already spotted some very nice race bikes around the city. But yesterday, I found a bike that is definitely something you don’t see every day.
I was visiting a good friend, and a new bike just came into the workshop to be fixed. Please enjoy a few pictures of this beautiful Bianchi race bike – probably Mod. Folgore – in excellent condition, equipped with Campy Cambio Corsa.
Note the little rarity attached on the seat tube, it’s a badge that states that it was available for purchase during the 40’s at the Madonna del Ghisallo, the famous little sanctuary dedicated to all cyclist in the north of Italy. A good place to include when you plan a bike trip in Italy. Close by, it could also be worth to visit the workshop of the “Cerchio del Ghisallo“, that provides handcrafted wooden rims, probably the best ones out there. One day soon, we’ll probably ask the guys at the Cerchio del Ghisallo to open their doors to us, in order to discover the procedure behind the construction and share it with you on the blog.
